From affiliate marketing to selling ads placed in the body of your email messages you blast out, there are numerous, clever ways you can monetize an opt-in subscriber email list.

Here are a few monetization ideas:

Use your "thanks for opting in" page to get some engagement by sharing a link to a service or product that will help them solve a problem.

Cross-selling ... show your subscribers a great add-on product or additional products that will compliment it. 

Which is very similar to:

Up-selling ... 'Would you like some fries with that?’ This is an upselling example.

So many options ... you need to measure and track which monetization methods work best for your audience.

Your email marketing results will keep increasing if you track to find out what your audience wants and how they want it ... The absolute best way to monetize your list is to test different ways to monetize your audience. 

Then you can repeat and improve what works and stop wasting time trying things that don't work.   Wink

Short for return on investment, ROI an accounting formula used to obtain an actual or perceived future value of an expense or investment.

Any list owner who is doing paid advertising to send leads to their list opt-in page should know if its worth the cost by tracking their ROI.

Return on investment (ROI) is a ratio between the net profit and cost of investment resulting from an investment of some resources. A high ROI means the investment's gains favorably to its cost.   Smile

Unsubscribes are the people ask who ask to be removed from an email list and want to opt out of all future email communications with said list owner.

Each time you blast an email to your list, unfortunately, you risk someone hitting the “unsubscribe” link.   Sad

No email marketer wants subscribers to leave their list, but the reality is, it happens... no matter how awesome you and / or how awesome your content and offerings are.

Even though it is hard, when a subscriber opts out, do not take it personally.   Wink

Just focus on ... "why did they unsubscribe?"... Especially if you are getting a lot of unsubscribes.
